Anyone with interest in Medieval Europe is welcome to be a member. The membership is open to those who specialize in the study of Medieval Europe and Byzantine Empire, as well as to scholars interested in the relationship between Islamic world and Christendom, or to those interested in the“Middle Ages” within the field of comparative history and culture. The members’ fields of study can be history, literature, philosophy, art, architecture, music, etc. Those whose research interests are in the periods before or after the Middle Ages, be it Late Antiquity or Early Modern, are also welcome to join.
Members can :
1. receive a copy of the annual journal as a benefit of membership
2. submit articles to the journal
3. attend the Society’s annual meetings, workshops, lectures, or seminars
4. read a paper at the annual meetings (provided it is accepted)
5. receive various items of information about Medieval European Studies

Student membership 4,000 yen
