下記の要領で、国際シンポジウム「The genesis, function, and use of the Germanic Origines gentium,
with particular focus on Jordanes’ Getica」を開催します。
科研費基盤研究B「ゲルマン人の出自神話の生成・機能・利用：ヨルダネス『ゲティカ』を中心として」（2023年度〜2026年度、JP 23K25381）では、西洋中世初期史・古代ローマ史・ビザンツ史の専門家が協力してゲルマン人の出自神話、とりわけヨルダネス『ゲティカ（ゴート人の歴史）』の生成・機能・利用の諸側面を検討してきました。4年間の研究の総括として、研究代表者・分担者に加えて、海外から5名・国内から3名の歴史家を招聘して、国際シンポジウムを開催することになりました。『ゲティカ』を中心としつつも、ランゴバルド人やフランク人など他のゲルマン人の出自神話も対象としています。みなさまのご参加をお待ちしております。
